Please complete this waiver before participation in the Gameyard event.

Version: 2026-05-10  |  Gameyard Inc. (“Gameyard”, “we”, “us”)

Please read carefully. This waiver affects legal rights.

If the participant is under 18 years of age, this waiver must be accepted by the participant’s parent or legal guardian.

1. About the activity

Gameyard runs coach-led laser tag events at indoor and outdoor locations, including schools, gyms, community spaces, parks, and other approved venues.

The activity may include a safety briefing, movement within the play area, use of infrared taggers and wearable sensors, light foldable field items, team-based gameplay, and entering and leaving the play area.

The activity is non-contact and uses no projectiles. Base Zones are no-fire.

2. Participation requirements

Participation is generally intended for ages 6 and up.

Participants must:
– be able to participate safely

– follow all Gameyard instructions at all times

– wear suitable closed-toe footwear

– remove loose items or jewelry that may create a safety risk

Gameyard may refuse, restrict, pause, or end participation if Gameyard reasonably believes participation is unsafe or if instructions are not being followed.

3. Health acknowledgement

The participant should not take part if a medical condition, illness, injury, impairment, or other circumstance makes participation unsafe.

The participant must stop immediately and tell a Gameyard coach if they feel unwell, dizzy, faint, short of breath, injured, or unable to continue safely.

If the participant has medication or a medical device relevant to emergency care, the participant or parent or legal guardian is responsible for ensuring it is available.

Gameyard staff are not medical professionals and are not required to administer medication.

4. Assumption of risk

I understand that participation in this activity involves risks, including:

– slips, trips, falls, and loss of balance

– sprains, strains, and impact injuries

– accidental contact with other participants, field items, surfaces, walls, or equipment

– uneven, hard, wet, grassy, paved, or changing surfaces

– risks related to moving in and out of the play area

– unexpected movement by other participants

– site-related or weather-related conditions, where applicable

I understand that these risks cannot be completely eliminated.

I voluntarily accept these risks in connection with the participant’s involvement in the activity.

5. Release of liability for adult participants

If I am an adult participant, I release Gameyard and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, coaches, volunteers, representatives, and agents from claims arising from or related to my participation, including claims for injury, death, property damage, or other loss, including claims based on ordinary negligence.

This release does not apply to gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

All participants must follow Gameyard’s written and verbal rules and all instructions from Gameyard coaches.

Participants must not:

– run into others

– engage in horseplay or unsafe behaviour

– climb, stand on, or misuse field items

Gameyard may remove a participant from play if Gameyard decides the participant is acting unsafely, is impaired, is disruptive, or is not following instructions.

8. Impairment and prohibited items

No participant may take part while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, or any other condition that makes participation unsafe.

No personal weapons, laser pointers, unauthorized electronics, glass items, food, or gum are allowed in the play area.

9. First aid and emergency response

If Gameyard reasonably believes emergency help may be needed, I authorize Gameyard to provide or arrange basic first aid, contact emergency services, and share relevant information with emergency responders.

Any medical or related costs remain the responsibility of the participant or the participant’s parent or legal guardian.
