FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a real laser?
No—our taggers use eye-safe infrared, similar to a TV remote. No projectiles, no paint, no welts.
Is this safe and non-contact?
GAMEYARD uses supervised, non-contact gameplay, structured briefings and coach-led rounds. Players are instructed not to push, tackle or make physical contact. Coaches can pause or adjust a round when needed.
What ages can play?
GAMEYARD’s Falcon F1 experience is generally designed for ages 6+. Children ages 4 and 5 can participate using our age-appropriate younger-player taggers, with simpler instructions, objectives, pacing and round formats based on the group.
What should players wear/bring?
Closed-toe shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a water bottle. Avoid long scarves or dangling accessories.
Indoor or outdoor—what’s best?
Both work. Indoor is best if you want weather-proof play (gyms, halls, large open rooms). Outdoor is great for yards and open fields when the weather is good.
What kind of space do we need?
As a rule of thumb, about 1,000 sq ft of open area works well.
We’ve even run events in non-traditional spaces (like a large canteen) after furniture was moved aside.
If you’re unsure, email us a photo of your space and we’ll confirm what works.
Do you bring obstacles/cover?
Yes. We bring foldable obstacles and LED objectives; we’ll place them based on your space.
Do you use inflatable bunkers?
We can use inflatable bunkers by request, but we don’t default to them because they require extra care for safe placement and take longer to set up.
Most events use our foldable panels, which are lighter and faster to set up safely. Details: https://gameyard.ca/our-gear
How early do you arrive?
We arrive 30–45 minutes before start time to walk the site and set props safely.
Can we play at night?
Yes! Night sessions look great! We just need to ensure the lighting is set up properly so the play area remains safe.
Is it loud? Will neighbors complain?
No projectile noise. Audio cues and cheers are moderate and backyard-friendly.
Are the taggers heavy?
They’re lightweight and sized for kids and adults. The weight of each is 900 grams.
How many can play?
GAMEYARD can support events with more than 100 participants. Up to 20 players can play at one time. For clearer movement and less crowding, we usually recommend 16 active players. Larger groups rotate through structured rounds or tournament-style formats.
Which event type should I choose?
GAMEYARD provides mobile laser tag for birthday parties, corporate events, community events, schools and youth groups.
For birthdays, a $100 deposit reserves the date and goes toward the event total.
If you need a venue, GAMEYARD can suggest possible options. The customer selects the venue, confirms availability, books it and pays the venue directly.
What’s included in the price?
Every event includes GAMEYARD equipment, setup, a safety briefing, coach-led missions, structured rotations and pack-down. Event timing depends on the service type and the plan confirmed before the event. Corporate events generally include 90 minutes of gameplay. Birthday and group timing is shown on the relevant service page or quote.
